July 31: Rivertown Raft Race
The Fort Smith Jaycees are sponsoring a homemade human powered river raft race that starts July 31st, 11am, in Arkoma at the city park off Highway 9A. It will benefit local charities, and there will be a 500 dollar prize for the winner. For details, visit fortsmithjaycees.com

The Community Rescue Mission
The Community Rescue Mission operates 7 days a week: there is no "closed" sign or downtime. They serve the River Valley daily. Last year alone, they served over 10,000 meals! The Mission is a place where no one will be hungry or without shelter. Reaching out to men, women and children, the residents hear the message of faith, hope and charity. Community Services Clearinghouse Needs Volunteers

Fort Smith Adult Education Center
For more than thirty five years the Fort Smith Adult Education Center has been helping adults in reviewing basic skills, GED preparation, English as a second Language and workplace skills.
